I recently paid $540 for a 5 volume set, which is the most I've ever paid for any book, and even that made me wince a little (lot).

Grimaldi & Engel is the tops. I haven't gotten through it all yet - every time I pick it up to make progress I get distracted leafing through to look at all the wonderful illustrations.

Nice review.

regards -- tedAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5460788270738656369.post-43882693715226504672008-11-26T04:29:00.000+08:002008-11-26T04:29:00.000+08:00If you've only got a non-professional interest...If you've only got a non-professional interest in palaeoentomology, and wish simply to feed your curiosity, then there is no doubt that Grimaldi & Engel (2005) is the book for you.

As a non-professional interested in paleontology, I can back this up. And wouldn't be nearly as interesting as the book.

Off-topic: I have been infected with the 6 random things meme, and now I'm tagging you.
