The last few ID challenges have all been too easy, it seems. So what do all you clever buggers make of this one?
(Okay, maybe it's not that difficult.) Attribution, as always, to follow.
Update: Identity available here. Figure from Kielan-Jaworowska (1971).
Obviously a mammal (presence of differentiated teeth and an alisphenoid bone amongst other features). The low multicusped teeth look like multituberculate teeth. Amongst multituberculates it looks a lot like Kryptobataar from the Cretaceous of Mongolia (single large reflected incisor, 6 postcanines)but the head shape doesn't seem quite right so I guess it may be a related form from the multituberculate group Cimolodonta.
ReplyDeleteOK got, it I was right, a cimolodont multituberculate but not Kryptobataar. Its Kamptobataar kuczynskii.
ReplyDeleteThree points, Adam. Which means that there are now two people needing only one more point to cross the line...
